They feature high solvency, low toxicity, easy volatility, and recyclability, and are widely used as a replacement for traditional chlorine-containing cleaning agents (such as trichloroethylene and carbon tetrachloride). They also have important applications in pre-treatment for cleanliness testing (such as workpiece extraction and filter membrane cleaning).
